Celebrating a Decade of Indie Love

How do you put into words what it means to celebrate ten years of doing something you love?

For a decade, Indie Love has stood as a bridge between readers and authors, creating the ultimate literary experience. That’s been our mission from day one—and we’ve stayed true to it. We've proudly spotlighted the Black independent romance author and the literary community, doing so with heart, pride, and integrity.

When I began this journey in 2015, I never imagined we’d be here—celebrating ten incredible years. From the vibrant streets of Atlanta to Los Angeles, New Orleans, and back home to where it all began, the ATL—we’ve left our mark on the literary world. And we’re just getting started.

This year’s event was everything I could’ve hoped for: filled with joy, laughter, love, hugs, and community. Readers have lovingly called Indie Love “the family reunion of the literary community.” It’s the space where lasting friendships are born, where connections go beyond the pages of books. For that alone, I’m deeply grateful. Every drop of blood, sweat, and tears I’ve poured into building Indie Love has been worth it—to create and protect a space where independent authors shine, and always will.

2025 is officially in the books. From our warm and lively meet & greet, to a book signing that welcomed over 400 women—and the men who love them—eager to meet, hug, and snap photos with their favorite authors, the love was undeniable. It all culminated in a beautiful brunch where I had the honor of expressing my gratitude to everyone who has supported this vision.

Words can’t fully capture what Indie Love’s Ten-Year Celebration meant to me.
